I've always hated grocery shopping, but now that I’m fully vegan, it's a mess.
At all major grocery stores, the aisles are packed floor to ceiling with foods I can't eat. It was a struggle even when I was a vegetarian, but if I’m picking up anything other than rice and beans, it’s a complete nightmare!
Reading the ingredients on the back of every package is driving me bananas. Even the store assistant asked if I needed help because I looked so confused. Once again, I left with tofu, avocado, and double-stuf Oreos for dinner.
I don’t miss dairy and I like the way I feel eating all plant-based, but why is it such a challenge for me? Am I forever doomed to fail at it? Part of me thought yes, but deep down I knew that if I had the right tools and training wheels, I’d succeed. As I chomped my fourth Oreo I Googled *how to be vegan.*
After hitting the same resources I’d already read, I hit upon Green Chef, a USDA-Certified Organic Company with meal kits for a variety of different dietary preferences. They have different plans with specifically designed recipes to help you stick to specialty lifestyles, like Fast & Fit, Mediterranean, Keto, and, of course, Vegan.
It was the best option I could find for its variety of genuine vegan foods, so I decided to give it a go.
Here's how Green Chef helps me stay vegan:

4. Savor The Flavors
Green Chef's amazing team of expert chefs craft vibrant recipes you'll rarely find in restaurants. My absolute favorites are the Coconut Curry-Glazed Cauliflower with Jasmine Rice, Mango Chutney, and Sautéed Cabbage, and the Maple-Roasted Rainbow Carrots with Pearl Couscous, Fennel, Sautéed Kale and Cherries. So yummy.
The portion size – especially the protein – is outstanding. I feel full after every meal and I often have leftovers for the next day.
5. Ding-Dong - Dinner At Your Door
Green Chef's got your back with weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly subscriptions. Plus, you can skip a week whenever you want. Personally, I don't, since Vegan with Green Chef is going amazing for me so far. Besides, I don't want to lose momentum while I have it! But if you just need a little help here and there, you can customize your subscription so it better fits your budget and lifestyle.
6. No Crave - No Cave
With at least 5 different Vegan recipes a week, my mind never wanders to the rogue pack of chicken in the back of my freezer. So many different ingredients and protein sources make dinner super fun - variety is key!
